was an Austrian football\u00a0player and coach.<\/p>

After retiring as a player, Happel went on to become one of the greatest coaches of all time. He won the league title in four different countries. He also took two different clubs to gold in the European Champions’ Cup (now the UEFA Champions League) and the Netherlands to second place in the 1978 World Cup. His first club was ADO Den Haag\u00a0in 1962, with whom he won the Dutch Cup\u00a0in 1968. After Den Haag he coached Feyenoord, with whom he won the Dutch championship\u00a0in 1971, as well as the European Cup\u00a0and the International Cup\u00a0in 1970.<\/p>

At the 1978 FIFA World Cup\u00a0in Argentina, Happel was coach of the Dutch national team\u00a0\u00a0and reached the final against the Argentine national team. Always a man of few words, Happel’s pre-match pep talk is said to have consisted of just one sentence: “Gentlemen, two points.” The Dutch subsequently lost.<\/p>

During his career as coach Happel worked for several clubs, including Sevilla, Club Brugge\u00a0(winning the Belgian Championship title\u00a0several times) and Hambourg\u00a0\u00a0(1981\u20131987, German champions\u00a0in 1982 and 1983, German Cup\u00a0\u00a0winner 1987).<\/p>

In 1983 he won the European Cup again, 13 years after the triumph with Feyenoord Rotterdam, this time with Hamburg. He is one of 5 coaches in the history of the European Cup (now called UEFA Champions League) to win the title with two different clubs (the others being Ottmar Hitzfeld, who won with both Borussia Dortmund\u00a0and Bayer Munich, Jose Mourinho, who won with FC Porto\u00a0and Inter Milan, Jupp Heynckes, who won with Real Madrid\u00a0and Bayern Munich\u00a0and Carlo Ancelotti, who won with AC Milan\u00a0and Real Madrid).<\/p>

In 1987 Happel returned to Austria as coach of FC Swarovski Tirol. With FC Tirol he won the Austrian Championship title\u00a0twice [1989 and 1990] before becoming coach of the Austrian national team\u00a0in 1992.<\/p>

[25 May 1936 \u2013 5 February 1985] was a Dutch football manager who won the 1976 UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup Final with RSC Anderlecht.<\/p>

As well as Anderlecht, Croon coached in the Netherlands and Belgium with DWS , VER, HVC, FC Volendam, K.S.V. Waregem, Lierse S.K. and NEC.His Anderlecht side won the 1976 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup with a 4\u20132 victory over West Ham United on 5 May 1976 at Heysel Stadium in Brussels. He moved to NEC Nijmegen, and coached the team until 1979.<\/p>

He died in February 1985 at the age of 48 following a car crash.<\/p>

Often described as a brilliant strategist, Ivi\u0107 is credited with helping develop the modern style of the game.
