Il succ\u00e8de \u00e0 l’Allemand Bernd Storck, limog\u00e9 apr\u00e8s avoir manqu\u00e9 la qualification au Mondial 2018. Leekens rebondit ainsi apr\u00e8s la fin de son aventure sur le banc de l’\u00e9quipe nationale alg\u00e9rienne, \u00e9limin\u00e9e au premier tour de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations en janvier dernier. La Hongrie sera la quatri\u00e8me s\u00e9lection dirig\u00e9e par ‘Long Couteau’ apr\u00e8s la Belgique (1997-1999 et 2010-2012), l’Alg\u00e9rie (2003 et 2016-2017) et la Tunisie (2014-2015).\r\n\r\nLeekens a d\u00e9but\u00e9 sa longue carri\u00e8re d’entra\u00eeneur en 1984 au Cercle Bruges, avec qui il gagnait la Coupe de Belgique en 1985. Trois ans plus tard, il prenait la t\u00eate d’Anderlecht, o\u00f9 il restait jusqu’en f\u00e9vrier 1988. Apr\u00e8s un passage \u00e0 Courtrai (1988-1989), il est devenu l’entra\u00eeneur du Club Bruges (1989-1991) o\u00f9 il a gagn\u00e9 son seul titre de champion de Belgique (1990).
