THE HISTORY OF THE VIGADO DE MONORI / In memory of my great-great-grandfather Gábor Bóna
In June 1912, we can read in Monor’s newspaper that “the tax office and the fire station are already under construction”. There was a lot of competition between manufacturers. The investors have made a call for tenders three times. In the end, “the winner was the local architect of great experience, Elek Bóna, whose masterful knowledge in the field of architecture is already proven by many buildings in our city”. The words of appreciation merited the architect. It is well known that the Vigadó, designed by István Nagy Jr., was also built by the contractors Gábor Bóna and Son in 1909.
