1987 De Telegraaf – Jenő Békeffy, Europe’s most important football manager, has died at the age of 50.

Jenő Békeffy’s strength was his reliability, he always settled commissions with the clubs and asked nothing from the players. Over the years, he became the confidant of Anderlecht’s owner (Constant Vandenstock) and organized the transfer of all the club’s players! Jenő Békeffy emigrated to the Netherlands in 1956, where he played for FC Enschelde, then moved to Belgium and began his career as a football manager in 1965. He died in Belgium at the age of 50 after a long illness.
